Helping Children Succeed

Today and for the future

Did You Know?

As a parent of a child with autism, the Macaulay summer program is invaluable. We are so thrilled with the progress our son made through this program and thankful for the opportunity to participate.

Special Programs

Macaulay delivers a variety of programs that address the exceptional needs of children and families with special needs. These include:

Summer Program for Children with Special Needs
Thanks to the generous support of the Catherine & Maxwell Meighen Foundation, Macaulay is able to provide special summer programming for children with autism, speech and language delays and other behavioural or physical challenges. These children receive individual and small group supports, participate in community programs, develop skills and learn to play with other children.

Let’s Get Started: Parenting a child with special needs
We offer special sessions for children who due, to a special need, cannot attend regular sessions of an Early Years Centre. In small groups, parents and children enjoy various “play and learn” activities. Parents share information and benefit from mutual support as they address the challenges of their special parenting role.

Play it Up
Early Literacy Specialists offer this small group program for identified pre-school children, including those on the Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Service waiting list. Activities target the development of language. Parent involvement is a critical component. Groups are held at various locations across Toronto.
