June 12th was our Annual General Meeting. Staff, board members, families and other Macaulay supporters came together to celebrate 2017 and the work that we did in our community. Eddie Woo and Sandra Aretusi from the EarlyON centres organized a beautiful art gallery using artwork from children and staff throughout the agency. Attendees had time to look at the art displays while enjoying punch and delicious food. During the program, the board recognized Carol Appathurai for her years of service on the board as she retires and welcomed Michael Bates as he steps in to take Carol’s place. In addition, Macaulay honoured Ingrid Palmer and the York Lions Club as “Friends of Macaulay” award recipients this year. These awards go to individuals or organizations who have consistently supported Macaulay. Our guest speaker, Karen Manning, shared practical tips on positive parenting and brought the evening to a close.
