Macaulay Centres for Children appoints Charles Abayomi as new CEO
New CEO, Charles Abayomi is poised to lead Macaulay through an extended period of growth while deepening our commitment to serving children and families.
Toronto, ON – March 12, 2024 – The Board of Directors of Macaulay Centres for Children are thrilled to announce the appointment of Charles Abayomi as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 25, 2024. As Macaulay embarks on this new chapter, the board expresses its excitement for the future under Mr. Abayomi’s leadership.
With a wealth of knowledge, expertise and a proven record of accomplishment, Charles is well positioned to lead Macaulay on its growth plan to serve even more children and families in Toronto. His leadership comes at a pivotal moment as Macaulay continues to expand its reach and impact within the community during a time of significant sector change.

Macaulay Centres for Children is a multi-service and multi-site organization that welcomes all children and fosters their healthy development. For more than 90 years, Macaulay has been designing and delivering evidence-informed, quality programs and services for children and families in the Northwest neighbourhoods of Toronto. Today, Macaulay serves more than 12,000 children and families, including those who are marginalized or have extra support needs.
The board extends its gratitude to interim CEO, Debra D. Kerby, for her exceptional leadership during the transition period. Debra’s dedication, expertise and enthusiasm have ensured that Macaulay continued to fulfill its commitments to stakeholders, staff, volunteers and most importantly, the children and families it serves.
