As volunteers in our Homework Clubs, our youth mentors develop valuable leadership skills, gain work experience and find a positive social outlet

Youth Development

Macaulay’s Youth Development Program offers youth in high school, from high risk communities, the opportunity to develop confidence and learn new skills while making a difference volunteering in their own communities.

The Youth Development Coordinator provides individual and group support to the youth volunteers to develop their leadership skills and confidence. Youth learn teamwork and communication skills, and gain volunteer experience to help them in their future. The program is complementary to the Homework Club; the youth act as peer mentors, personally benefitting while providing tutoring and support to younger students in Homework Clubs.
